Location
Queen Anne is located a mere 2.5 miles away from downtown Seattle. Without traffic, you can get there in 10 minutes.
To the north of the neighborhood, there’s Fremont Canal. To the west, there’s Elliot Ave West and 15th Avenue West. To the east, there’s Lake Union and Aurora Avenue West. And finally, if the Seattle Center and Lower Queen Anne are included, there’s Denny Way to the south.
The neighborhood is accessible overall. In an article, Seattle Times gave Queen Anne a walkability score of 92 over 100.
Home Types
The neighborhood gets its name from the several majestic Queen Anne-style homes in the area, particularly in Upper Queen Anne. Craftsman is the most popular choice for single-family homes in the area. You can also find some homes with Tudor and Colonial Revival styles.
Queen Anne also has several midcentury to modern-style condo and apartment buildings, and some newer townhomes.


Most Visited Spots
At the bottom of the hill, you will find Seattle Center, a popular venue for various music and cultural festivals. It’s also a hub of sorts for the performing arts, hosting the Seattle Opera and the Pacific Northwest Ballet.
Kerry Park is also a frequently visited destination in Queen Anne. It offers superb views of the cityscape, Elliot Bay, the Space Needle. On clearer days, you can also see the beautiful Mount Rainier. The park also hosts a play area nearby.
Then there’s West Highland Drive which is home to some of the most gorgeous mansions in Seattle. It’s also the perfect way to reach the next destination – Marshall Park, which has criminally underrated views of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound.
Other Notable Features
Residents love Queen Anne for several reasons. The neighborhood boasts of low crime rates, a selection of excellent cafes, restaurants, and shops. Although it’s close to downtown Seattle, it’s out of the way from most of the city traffic.
